Newcastle United defender, Titus Bramble, will not be facing any disciplinary action following his clash with PSV Eindhoven midfielder Remco van der Schaaf in the first leg of the UEFA Cup Quarter Final.
The 22-year-old appeared to catch the Dutchman with his elbow as the pair clashed near half-time, but the referee did not see anything wrong. PSV coach Guus Hiddink hit out after the game and asked UEFA to look into the matter.
Despite seeing nothing wrong, referee Gilles Veissiere spoke to both men in the aftermath before taking no further action.
UEFA has however confirmed that Bramble is in the clear. A spokesman said:
"There is nothing mentioned in the referee's report so there will not be any disciplinary action taken."
