Magpies' May Have Missed Out On Kezman

Reports in todays newspapers suggest that Birmingham City have made a firm offer for PSV Eindhoven striker Mateja Kezman. Birmingham City are now leading the chase for the reported Newcastle target...
Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester United have also been linked with Kezman, who will face the Magpies' tonight at St James' Park in the UEFA Cup quarter final, second leg.
The Blues have reportedly made an offer of around £6.5 million, and according to these reports, PSV chief Harry van Raaij has confirmed the bid. There has been a "positive reaction" to the approach for the Serbian striker, who has just over a year left on his current deal..
van Raaij is quoted as to saying: "I can live with this bid."
However, he also claims that the Birmingham side are yet to get back to them regarding the offer and that the table is still open for other offers.
He added "Now Birmingham has not reacted, we at PSV no longer have our hands tied by this bid."
It is believed that if Newcastle were to enter the race for Kezman, that he would rather join us than The Blues, but the questions we now have to ask, are "Do the fans actually want him?" and "Will Freddy buy him?"
