Messageboard regular, Bryan Mulhall, gives us his player and team ratings from the home game with Chelsea on 25th April 2004.

Given: 9 - An amazing save from a Gudjohnsen header, which he had no right to save. Kicking and handling was superb all day.

Hughes: 8 - Great performance, got foward and supported Ambrose well.

O'Brien: 9 - Getting better with every game.superb.we will miss him when his ban starts

Woodgate: 8 - Possibly at fault for the first goal, but easily shackled Crespo. Injured yet again. Lets hope it isnt serious.

Bernard: 9 - Fantastic performance and a French cap surely beckons. What a player this lad is becoming!

Ambrose: 9 - Brilliant. Terriosed Bridge and deserved a goal with a terrific 35 yarder. Crossing could improve but he looks so willing to learn he will undoubtlely come good.

Viana: 8 - Much better. Didnt look out of his depth against Makelele and Lampard and was at the core of our superb attacking play. I'm delighted for him. Very well played.

Speed: 8 - Where would we be without this man. Immense again today.Lampard hardly had a kick. He took a battering and let Viana do the technical stuff.

Robert: 7 - Much better then mid-week. Some brilliant crosses. Worked hard too.

Shearer: 9 - Super goal, super game, super man. Who says him and Shola doesn't work. Bollocks!

Ameobi: 9 - Terrific performance. Bullied Desially and Terry all day and they couldnt handle him. Got a deserved standing ovation.

Overall: 9 - One of the best performances of the season. Ambrose and Viana looked the part, Robert was much better and Shola and Al' were brilliant together. Great stuff boys, keep it up!
