Carl Cort Returns to St James’ Park this weekend aiming to impress those who decided his place wasn’t at Newcastle.

The Wolves striker, 26, makes his return hoping to avoid a bad reception from fans and prove his talents on the pitch.

In the three years Carl Cort was at St James’ Park he started just 19 premiership games and scored a disappointing seven goals.

Since arriving at Molineux in January for 2million Cort has upped his efforts by creating a wild partnership with Henri Camara and scoring four goals in the last five games.

Cort wishes to continue this run of good fortune and prove that his previous injuries have not hampered his performance now.

"I'm on a good run of form at the moment and it would be nice to get another but I'm not going to run around like a headless chicken just to get a goal,"

Despite relegation Wolves will be looking for a win against Newcastle who will be playing off the back of a midweek defeat needing to grasp the three vital points which could send them back into fourth place ahead of Liverpool and villa when it comes to the crunch.

Dave Jones, Wolves manager insisted that Cort has nothing to prove on his return

“Everyone has low points in their career and he's trying to rebuild it and we have given him that opportunity.”
