Newcastle Uniteds 21year old Midfielder has expressed his dissatisfaction at coming 2nd to Laurent Robert.
"Leaving Newcastle would be news I would receive with open arms,
The first year here was very good while the coach relied on me."
The Portuguese international has struggled to get regular 1st team football at the club and despite his immense talent, which has shone through at times, the lack of games means his game is inconsistent.
Viana moved from Sporting Lisbon in 2002 for 8.5million with a Young player award but he hasn’t been used to the best of his ability, and very nearly moved back to his old club in December – the move fell through.
"But then he stopped using me and I don't have the slightest idea why. So if they want to sell me, I would respect that decision."
Viana speaking to a Portuguese Newspaper called Horas of his move back to sporting being stopped said
"I will never forget that situation, nor the month, I spent without any help from Robson. This is why I am unsatisfied.
If I left Newcastle I would go to any club, which would be happy to have me. I have no preferences, even in Portugal."
This is revelation will worry Sir Bobby Robson whose teams is still strewn with injury and the news of Viana wishing to leave SJP will cause tension within the club.
Many fans haven’t rated Viana but then they also haven’t been given the chance to see what he can do.
