Shola - Decent Replacement for Shearer (Waddle)

Newcastle United legend Chris Waddle has let the world know that he's sees promise in Shola Ameobi an that the club's fans should advocate giving him some time to prove his potential.

He went on further to state that the international could prove a decent 'replacement' to fill the void left by the inevitable retirement of former England-international Alan Shearer.

"He can't be replaced, but he'll have to be,'' he said. "That task at the moment lies with Shola Ameobi. I think he's a decent young player even if everyone keeps having a go about him when I come up home.

"He suffers like I used to suffer when I was young. Our gait is similar and made it look as though I didn't care or was knackered. But it wasn't the case and isn't with Ameobi.

"Shola has a nice touch with both feet, he's good technically, he's strong and he can be nasty leaving his foot in.

"He looks gangly but when he matures, he'll be a good player. It's tough working in Shearer's shadow, but United must realise what they've got.''

If we do have another Chris Waddle on our hands then we'll be more than okay, but the fact is, it's more likely that he is just trying to help the poor lad. He looks decent, but at times he can be one of the most frustrating players ever to be play St. James' Park.
