Danny Mills - Newcastle Player Within A Week?
By Matthew Jones
June 4 2004
Newcastle United could see Leeds full-back Danny Mills arrive at St James' Park within a week, depending on wether or not wages can be agreed on.
The player, who spent last season on loan at The Riverside, with Middlesbrough, could be reunited with Jonathon Woodgate and Lee Bowyer in the very near future, as talks are set to take place over the next few days.
Mills, aged 27, wants to get as close to £40,000-a-week as he can, which is the reason why Boro will not be keeping him. Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson, is refusing to break the club's wage structure.
It is believed that Newcastle are prepared to offer more than Boro, but they atre still miffed by the England internationals demands.
