Newcastle and Manchester United seem to be getting closer and closer to finalising a deal, which will bring 29-year-old Nicky Butt to Newcastle.

After 13 years at Old Trafford the Midfielder is keen to move on. With only a couple of seasons left in him moving to another big club and playing in-front of the second largest audience in the Premier League would be ideal.

Newcastle’s Far East tour starts on the 11th July and they are keen to take Butt with them to Bangkok and Hong Kong

Having been struck with a knee injury whilst training with England the International is reportedly recovering well and any fitness test would not be a problem.

The 4M fee which Newcastle have proposed to Manchester United looks set to be accepted within the next 7 days.

Nicky Butt isn’t the only player set to leave the Former League Champions Ole Gunner Solskjaer and Diego Forlan are both out of favour and with the purchase of Alan Smith and the links with Everton’s Wayne Rooney a clearout looks to be on the cards.
