Shearer: I Didn't Say I'd Quit!

Alan Shearer spoke out on his future at a press conference in Hong Kong today. When asked whether he would be quitting the club, Shearer had the following to say.
"I did not say I would quit. What I did say was that I wanted to play regular football in my final season at the club.
"There are reports that Newcastle are going to sign some players, and with the excellent players we already have I know full well that we can only play two up front.
"I'd never take my place in the team for granted, but form permitting then I'd obviously like to be a regular."
It would seem from this that Sir Al simply wants to make sure that Sir Bobby isn't thinking of starting PK or James Beattie ahead of him come August 14th. Can anyone really see the Lion of Gosforth leaving...?
