Stephen Carr could arrive at St James' Park in the near future, according to reports. Both Sky Sports and The Times claim that Newcastle United will make a bid THIS WEEK for the right-back.
It is understood that the Spurs' skipper full-back would cost Sir Bobby £1.7m.

A right-back has been a long-term target of Robson and the Republic of Ireland international and Carr has been one of the names constantly linked with the club.
Newcastle boss Sir Bobby Robson said:
"It's no secret we've been looking for a right back.
"I've spoken to the chairman (Freddy Shepherd) about this all summer. It seems to be taking longer than I would have thought - but we will persevere to bring in the last piece of the jigsaw." |
Carr has one year left on his current contract. |
