Newcastle Interested in Chelsea's Huth?

With Jonathan Woodgate likely to sign for Real Madrid, subject to a medical, it is believed that Newcastle have thier eye on Chelsea defender, Robert Huth as a suitable replacement.
The young German has been called up to Germany's FULL SQUAD this week, but John Terry, William Gallas and Ricardo Carvalho are all ahead of him in the pecking order at Chelsea.
With Woodgate due to sign for Real Madrid within the next 24 hours, could Huth arrive on Tyneside this week?
As to why the club are offloading Woodgate, I am as clueless as everybody else. There is NO benefit to the club at all by selling our star defender and then just spending the money straight away on a replacement - who surely can't be of the same standard for the price?
Just like Newcastle did when they signed him from Leeds, Real Madrid have netted a bargain if they pull this one off!
