Youngster James Milner is disappointed not to have scored on Saturday against former teammate Paul Robinson - but it wasn't for lack of trying. Milner fired in a beauty of a volley on the 26th minute which was brilliantly saved by his former teammate.
If the shot had gone in, the game could have had a different ending, but it wasn't to be. Thimotee Atouba netted a goal for Spurs side early in the second half.
Speaking to the Official Newcastle United website Milner said:
"It was important to get off to a good start at home after last week, so it was disappointing.
"We were a bit unlucky, we had the better of it first-half and created quite a few chances.
"They scored the goal and we lost our way a bit. I thought we deserved a point at least. We dominated the game, played good football and created lots of chances.
"I think it would've just gone under the bar, so Robbo's made a good save. Either side of him and it would've gone in.
"It was a great header down from Al and I just had a split second to get a good contact. I managed to squeeze it past the defender but Robbo's made a save.
"He's a great keeper and stopped us getting the points from the game. We can't do anything about it now, we've just got to learn from what we've done wrong, or what we could do a bit better, and look forward to Wednesday.
"We're a bit disappointed really. We've got to pick ourselves up and look forward to Norwich."
