Patrick Kluivert will be in Newcastle Uniteds squad to face Norwich.

Kluivert has recovered quickly from a damaged hamstring and much to Graeme Souness’ delight is available for the carling cup clash.

"Patrick's back, he'll be in the squad, Kieron isn't quite there.

We've got players who are itching for a chance. They'll be given their chance, but it doesn't mean we'll be fielding a weakened line-up.

That was an interesting game," said Souness on The Magpies' 4-3 win over Manchester City on Sunday.

But, we've got a cup-tie against Norwich, which should be an interesting game. They came here earlier in the season and did well."

Rumour has it that Shearer may be dropped and observing from the bench so the Dutchman can start. Harper is due to play in goal, and Bramble and Johnson are likely to start.
