Earlier this week Newcastle United boss Graeme Souness revealed how he would love to see Alan Shearer prolong his career for another season, despite the Magpies' skipper planning on retiring this season. But what if he does retire?

Souness said:

"If he doesn't stay on as a player, there'll be something for him.

"I won't rule out a coaching role or something just to keep him here.

"He's the top man for all Newcastle fans."
