We Have Nothing To Lose - Given

As they prepare to take on top-of-the-table Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, goalkeeper Shay Given insists that the Magpies have nothing to lose. Chelsea are clear favourites to win the title and Newcastle go into the game in 10th place.

SHAY GIVEN:

"They will be favourites, but they're top of the table with a nice little gap there and they've been playing some great stuff recently.

"But that won't stop us from going down there and giving it a real good go. It's a big game for us because we want to move up the table, and it's a game we're looking forward to."

Last season, Glen Johnson, Frank lampard, Hernan Crespo, Damien Duff and Eidur Gudjohsen sealed victory for Chelsea.

ON LAST SEASONS GAME, GIVEN ADDED:

"I remember that game well, and it wasn't one of our better games last season, put it that way.

"But that means nothing going into Saturday's match. It's history now, so we forget all about and make sure we're properly prepared for Saturday's game.

"We've had a free week after the Everton game so maybe that will do us good. Everton had a free week before they played us, while we had the travelling back and forwards from France for the UEFA Cup game.

"This time we've had a free week and Chelsea have had a Carling Cup game so we'll see what happens."
