Yeading Football Club are now looking to host thier dream FA Cup tie against Newcastle Untied at thier own ground, The Warren.

Having origonally requested the game be moved to St James' Park, the Ryman Premier League leaders would now like to play the tie at home.  Middlesex-based Yeading, who won the Ryman Division One last season have had chance for the news of their dream tie to sink in, and have taken time to carefully consider all available options.

Yeading secretary Bill Gritt said:

"We are going to look at the feasibility of staging the game at Yeading - subject to the local authority, police and all other parties concerned.

"Now we've settled down, we're going to look at getting them down at The Warren and see where we go from there.

"We've had 4,000 there, but I think it's about 3,000 to 3,500 capacity with 250 seats, but we can pull in some portable seating."

Brentford or Queens Park Rangers' ground could be an option if it is decided that the game cannot be played at The Warren.  The FA will have the final say after they have taken into account all aspects of Health and Safety, and spoken with the local police.

Looking ahead to the game, he added:

"We will certainly give it a go and show Mr Shepherd some grass-roots football, which he seems to have forgotten about."
