O'Brien's Hamstring Fine... But His Calf Isn't!

Due to return to action on Saturday in Newcastle United's match against Portsmouth having missed the last six matches, defender Andy O'Brien picked up another injury in training. O'Brien was origonally out of action with a hamstring injury, but that is fine now... it's just his calf that isn't!

The Republic of Ireland international is now a big doubt for the weekend, having been expected to make a comeback.

Speaking to Alan Oliver of the Evening Chronicle, manager Graeme Souness explained:

"O'Brien's hamstring is fine but he is now feeling his calf and he is a big doubt for Saturday.

"It's a blow to us because had he been ready to come back it would have given us an extra choice for Saturday."
