Kieron Dyer has already spoken about the threat of Pompey's Lua Lua - now it is Shola Ameobi's turn. The former Toon player netted a late goal against the Magpies' last season while he was on loan, and the threat of him getting another at the weekend is always going to be there.

Shola said: "Lua just wants to score goals at whatever club he plays for, and he did that against us last season.

"It cost us two points on the day, but this is his first time back at Newcastle and I'm sure our crowd will give him a good reception.

"He's doing well at Portsmouth and I'm sure he's looking forward to this game. He'll have extra reason to do well coming back to Newcastle.

"I still speak to him all the time, he was one of my closest friends at Newcastle.

"He will want to impress the fans because he didn't get too many chances to show what he could do while he was here, he's a top player and he'll want to prove that."
