Newcastle United's FA Cup Third Round tie with Yeading, will now be played at Queens Park Rangers' Loftus Road ground, on SUNDAY 9TH JANUARY 2005.
Loftus Road holds 19,148 (all seated) and will be the venue for the game after Yeading's home ground, The Warren, was deemed as unsuitable for such a big game.
Yeading spokesman Tim Fuell said:
"Safety concerns were the reason we needed an alternative venue and thankfully QPR, a local rival of ours in a way, managed to help us out.
"Once the draw had sunk in we realised for safety reasons we couldn't play the game at The Warren and Loftus Road is a very good venue."
A statement on the clubs official website read:
"Yeading's home FA Cup tie against Newcastle United in the FA Cup Third Round will be staged at Q.P.R.'s Loftus Road Stadium on Sunday 9 January 2005.
Negotiations with the Metropolitan Police are continuing regarding kick-off times and an announcement is expected early next week."
