Trust Me, Says Souness

Graeme Souness basically says, "I am the right man for Newcastle". Having had a decent start to his Newcastle career, Souness' squad has now gone downhill and in recent weeks have failed to impress.

Souness however, insists that he is the right man for the job:

"I honestly do not look at the newspapers.

"I see my job as trying to do the best for this football club and there is nothing different today to there was the day I walked into this room and confronted you all.

"I believe I am the right man for the job and in time, we will show that.

"The second half on Saturday, the game at Bolton, the last 30 minutes at Chelsea - other than that I have been very happy with our football.

"We have been losing games because of lapses in concentration, people not doing their jobs at the correct time.

"But I cannot be critical of the majority of the football we have played; I can be critical of the defending at times, the lapses in concentration at times, and that is something we will have to address, and we will."
