Despite only being at St James Park since Monday, 18-year-old trialist Cicero has been very impressive. He will continue to train with the Magpies' squad for the rest of the week.

Speaking on the Sporting Braga youngster, Souness said:

"He hasn't had very long with us, but he looked impressive."

Hugo Viana added: "He's very strong and I remember how hard he made it for our defenders in that game.

"He is probably more suited to the English game than I am.

"He's a physical player and I am sure he will do well if he has the confidence to do so."
