Nicola Legrottaglie, currently at Juventus, is being heavily linked in the Italian press with a move to Newcastle United. The centre-half has himself admitted that he be willing to leave the Italian club in January, and would prefer a move to the Premiership.

The player hasn't made an impression under Fabio Capello and it is believed that Southampton and Roma are also interested.

LEGROTTAGLIE SAID:

"I don’t think I arrived at Juventus at the best time,” I have not been able to play regularly and I've often been injured.

"Maybe the best decision I can make is a change of direction.

"I haven't spoken with Juventus about the January market. But if an offer arrives, I will consider it.

"Premiership football appeals to me. Though Roma would also be a great solution."

Italian press think his favoured destination would be Newcastle United.
