Newcastle United midfielder Kieron Dyer hopes that on Sunday, as the Magpies' take on Yeading in the FA Cup, he can emulate the form he showed during last season's FA Cup third round - an away game at Southampton, 3-0 to United, and two goals from the England international.

United ended thier Southampton hoodoo with the victory at St. Mary's, but were knocked out of the cup by Liverpool just a round later.

KIERON DYER (AS ON THE OFFICIAL SITE): "The draw was very cruel to us last year.

"We had to go to Southampton where we hadn't won for years, but we put on a great display and won comfortably in the end.

"And our reward for that win was an away game at Liverpool!

"This year the draw looks a lot easier, on paper at least.

"It will help us that the game is at Loftus Road, and we have to be confident of going through into the next round.

"I don't know what team the gaffer will put out. He may decide to make a few changes and put a few of the lads who haven't played as much in the side, but whatever team he fields should progress into the next round."
