Newcastle United boss Graeme Souness has blasted striker Craig Bellamy once more, claiming that the Welsh man, who signed for Celtic on deadline day on a 6-month loan deal, just doesn't score enough goals - whish isn't good enough!
Craig Bellamy has said he would like to return to SJP once him time with Celtic is up, but Souness' recent comments seem to suggest that there will be no way back for Bellamy unless his statistics drastically improve.
GRAEME SOUNESS: "In his time in senior football he has averaged 9.3 goals per season.
"Half of those were not in the top flight. Now that's not good enough for a striker at a club like this.
"If we want to be challenging we need to have two strikers who are near 20 goals on a regular basis.
"We can't rely on 34-year-old Alan Shearer to keep our heads above water."
Celtic rivals Rangers, have reavealed that they too would have been fighting for the Welsh-mans signuture.
MCLEISH SAID: "I know Bellamy has moved to Celtic and that's a great signing for them.
"In different circumstances he could have been here but loan-deals precluded that from happening.
"It was just something we couldn't look at and you need a bit of luck in terms of timing for these things."
JOHN HARTSON (CELTIC): "There are 14 games to go in the league and getting Craig into the club could help us win the title.
"He is a great footballer and if I was a Rangers fan I'd be worried.
"I've been here four years and you simply can't go around like he does and say the things he does, I'll be having a word."
