Graeme Souness was very impressed with his team’s performance against Chelsea yesterday, the performance, which knocked Chelsea out of the FA cup.
Souness who will now be waiting on this afternoons Quarter Finals Cup draw said the following:
"We are delighted. We played against an excellent team.
We scored our goal early and they controlled most of the possession after that and I think we became a wee bit nervous after scoring. We're not used to holding on to leads here - I think that's the first time we have ever achieved it since I've been manager.
Football has never been more cat and mouse than it is today. Most of the teams come here and play one up, five through the middle and try to frustrate us. I think Chelsea are a great example. They started the season getting criticised for being dull to watch.
They were winning 1-0 all the time, and then they started to get confidence from wining so many games and then started to score goals on top of just winning 1-0 and winning well in games.
You are going to get more confidence from winning 1-0 than winning 3-2 or 4-3."
Keeping a clean sheet against the London side was almost as important to Souness as the win in itself.
