England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has praised Kieron Dyer and stated the Newcastle midfielder may well play.

Dyer has been in great form as of late, helping Newcastle win 8 games in a row.

The former Ipswich man managed to rescue his career on Tyneside after being hated by the fans after refusing the captains armband in protest at being played on the right-wing.

Sven said:

"Joe Cole and Kieron Dyer are both doing extremely well. It is good that they are both in good form at this moment.

"Dyer is doing very well playing outside right in midfield or as a second striker. He is another player who can play in several positions.

"I am very happy to have Cole and Dyer, who have very seldom started a game for
England but are both in great form at the moment.

"Maybe Dyer has been a little bit like Joe Cole, not defending very well at times, a good attacking player but I think he is becoming very mature as well."
