Newcastle Untied and Kieron Dyer have failed in their appeal against his red card after a fight with team-mate Lee Bowyer.
The club insisted that Dyer did not throw a punch as it was Bowyer who approached Dyer, headbutted him and punched him several times.

This is believed to be because as he fight was broken up, Dyer threw 1 punch; a move seen as harsh by many people because Dyer had just been on the receiving end of Bowyer’s attack without lashing out in response.
