Make or Break – 3 Matches Could Decide Season

The next two or three weeks are seen as stressful by many for Newcastle United who could be going onto further things or see their seasons dreams evaporate before their very own eyes
And it is all down to them.
Tonight’s match against Sporting Lisbon is just the first of a list of serious games, which could have shocking consequences. Both Dyer and Bowyer have, been listed in the squad for tonight’s match (although not necessarily the match) this has caused mixed emotions between the fans, some of which believe that neither especially Lee Bowyer should ever play at the club again, let alone a week later. Graeme Souness’ take on the situation was summed up when he was quoted saying
"I am going to pick a team that is capable of winning this game," – exactly as the manager should.
He continued to say that teams are at their most dangerous when they have been hurt, however this counts for the fans also.
Following the return leg at St James Park Newcastle face Manchester United in Cardiff for the FA cup semi final. A cup which Manchester United haven’t always taken so seriously – but this season it could be their only chance of victory if all else fails, and so they will be up for a decent match and that means a good team. Having Manchester United thrown into the midst of our cup hopes wasn’t exactly part of the dream route but it had to happen and we will take them as they come all guns firing minus Kieron Dyer.
Souness is hoping that the kick in the teeth he received last week will enhance team morale and the will play to the best the can in an effort to prove to the press they are a ‘team’ and in a desperate bid to change the headlines back to effective wins and cracking goals.
