Pompey: Robert IS Ours

Portsmouth Chairman Milan Mandaric revealed that Pomepey HAVE signed Laurent Robert on a permanent deal.

There had been some doubt to whether it was a loan-move or a permanent deal after Newcastle Chairman Freddy Shepherd insisted Robert would not face Newcastle next season.

This is a stipulation which can only be in loan-deals, as Premier League rules prohibit this clause in permanent deals.

Mandaric said:

"Robert is signing for three years

"It is permanent; there is no doubt about that.

"I don't think that's the case," he said when responding to suggestions that the deal was a loan. "As I said before he has signed for three years."

"There is some debate between them and us, he will definitely play at home at Fratton Park but we will resolve that at a later date,"

"We have a very good relationship with Newcastle and will resolve this in the right way."
