Newcastle United target Daniel Van Buyten has re-affirmed his commitment to Hamburg, despite links moving him to Tyneside.

Van Buyten seemed keen to have a move away from Hamburg, but after speculation quietened down, he has stated that he wants to stay.

Van Buyten said:

"I will be staying. My head and my heart belong to Hamburg and I'm very happy to be here,"

"The club has secured the services of some good players. We have a good team and we want to do better than last season,"
