So Far…

Steven Carr played for 3 local clubs in Ireland; Trinity Boys, St. Kevins, and Stella Maris in Dublin. The strange thing was he was playing as a midfielder at that time.

He first came to England at 15 years of age on a trial with Arsenal but nothing came of that so he joined another North London club, Tottenham, on a YTS Trainee in 1992.

He spent 11 years at White Hart Lane and debuted for the club in 1993 but didn’t establish himself in Tottenham’s first team until 96/97 and has been a first-team regular ever since.

Then, after months of speculation, Carr left Spurs for Newcastle at a bargain price of £2 million and is a regular at right-back.

Carr is contracted to Newcastle until 2008 and with over 200 Premiership appearances under his belt, is a valuable asset in the Newcastle defence.
