Spurs are keeping tight lipped on speculation they will beat Arsenal in the race to sign Newcastle midfielder Jermaine Jenas.

The 22-year-old is currently unsettled on Tyneside, and Newcastle are believed to have dropped the asking price from £20 million to £13 million after rejecting Spurs 2 initial bids.

And now Spurs are supposed to be the favourites to land the England midfielder.

A Spurs spokesperson said:

We're aware of the reports but we have no comment to make on them."
