Newcastle fans are angry at local radio station Century FM after a misleading announcement.

The local Newcastle radio station told fans that at 6pm tonight there was an announcement that was very important.

Fans immediately assumed that there must be some news on a transfer in or out of the club, as this much fuss would not be made…over a simple radio deal.

Century FM said:

"Toon fans must listen in, it’s a very important announcement"

Many fans listened in, only to find out that Century FM have the broadcasting right for Newcastle games until 2007-2008 season.

Fans are furious with the radio station, who no doubt knew that fans were desperate for signings.
