GOAL DESCRIPTIONS AND PLAYER RATINGS

Looking at my boys play football today I my chest was swelled with pride. The new buzz word is resilience; the performance of our guys defensively today announced to one and all that we will not be a soft touch.
Before I give the player ratings I will describe the goals for the benefit of those that didn’t get to see the match.
In the 81st minute Freddy burst into the box and kicked the floor with his right foot, Nzogbia happened to be standing behind him and he kicked the air in an effort to tell the cheating scum to get up. Amazingly (or maybe not based on his performance) the referee Steven Bennet blew for a penalty. Henry was very lucky to slot the ball past givens finger tips to the bottom left corner of the pitch
Five minutes later Freddy cheating scum Lungberg ran from center midfield and layed the to the right..he then proceeded to sprint 30 yards into the box. The significant thing is that Amdy Faye was five yards square of Freddy when he started running and he nonchalantly jogged back..he didn’t even bother to try and track the run i was screaming at the top of my head watch Freddy he must have heard me. Even the arsenal fans were shouting Freddy’s in Freddy’s in, but Faye continued to jog back, anyway the ball was played into Freddy in the box and he passed it to Van persie who slotted the ball past Given
And now ladies and gentle men boys and girls children of all ages live from highbury, its that time again its akins official player ratings
GIVEN 8.5/10 his name is in capitals today because he edged man of the match for me he pulled of some magnificent saves and almost stopped the penalty that shouldn’t have been from Henry. Had a great game nothing he could have done about the second goal
Carr 7/10 had a good game today defended well..gave the ball away a few times but overall was solid defensively. He also made a few runs over lapping Dyer at times and was always there to support him, he kept up his usual standard of deliveries into the box
Boumsong 8/10 was great today didn’t give Henry a sniff, he controlled the the line very well and played the offside trap to perfection at times I was very impressed with him
Taylor 8.4/10 he was magnificent we have struck gold with this lad, he has continued his magnificent form from preseason into the new season. He won everything. I am very exited by young Steven, simply put Moore and Bramble don’t stand a chance of displacing him
Baba 7/10 did some every good work on the left going forward he worked well with Emre he didn’t do a lot wrong today and I would be happy if he kept it up throughout the rest of the season
Jeans 6/10 he didn’t really have time to get into the game before he was unjustly sent off , he worked well with dyer while he was on showed some nice touches and tackles. The one that he was sent off for was a beauty
Parker 8.4/10 the guy was amazing and if not for Givens point blank save from Freddy he would have walked man of the match he won every tackle, made some great last ditch blocks I was signing theres only one Scotty Parker for 80 mins the , my mates(arsenal fans) were wishing they signed him to replace Vieira
Emre 7.7/10 we would have seen the very best from this guy if we weren’t cheated today, we would have been further down the pitch in the attacking third, instead he had to chase back and hurry everything down ..and he did it well.
Dyer 6/10 didn’t really do much like JJ he had to concentrate on defensive duties more than would have been required had the refree declined the bribe
Bowyer 7/10 played well today worked very hard and was often an out let to relive pressure and hold up the ball. He latched on to more flick ons and knock downs from big Al than Dyer did
Shearer 6.5/10 worked hard but the wasn’t really an attacking showing from the team so he didn’t have much to do or feed on
Subs
Nzog 6/10 played hard was unlucky to have been blamed for freddy kicking the ground
Milner 6.5/10 he was a welcome replacement for big al he ran at things chased every thing down ..looked dangerous
Faye 5/10 huge difference in class between himself and Scotty. Scott was tireed but I bet he would have made more of an effort to track freddys run
Review
The first 20 mins of the game we frustrated arsenal and I really fancied our chances but even when adversity came in the form of the cheating scum of the ref we didn’t capitulate like previous efforts. I am proud of the lads today they worked hard and showed a resilient attitude the lack of signings wasn’t as obvious as we thought it would be, this performance has given me loads of optimism for the season
