Whilst Graeme Souness carried the blame for midfielder Jermaine Jenas picking up a red card in Sundays match against Arsenal, the card itself has been overturned.
Steve Bennett has reassessed footage of yesterday’s incident between Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva and Jenas and the FA have declared it a book able offence rather than a sending off, and has apologised in a letter to Souness and Jenas.
“He has requested that the football association downgrade the dismissal to a yellow card and this has been confirmed by the FA”
Jenas will now be eligible to play against West Ham at the weekend.
