Solano Deal Halted

A deal which would involve Norberto Solano returning to St. James Park has been halted as the 2 clubs cannot agree on terms.

Aston Villa manager David O’Leary demanded that James Milner be let on loan to the Midlands club in exchange for Solano, who was desperate to move back to Tyneside.

But with Emre and Dyer injured, Milner could have a very important part to play this season and Graeme Souness would not budge.

Solano, who is on international duty with Peru, was reportedly eager to return to Tyneside, but unless a deal is trashed out, ‘Nobby’ will remain in the Midlands.
