Dyer Felt Pressured

Kieron Dyer is regretting coming back from injury too soon, but he felt he had to help a Newcastle team who were playing poorly.

Emre and Kieron Dyer both passed late fitness tests before the game against Manchester United, but the gamble paid off for neither of them as they both limped off injured early on.

Dyer said:

"It's another setback for me,"

"The manager was under pressure and we were playing against arguably the best team in Europe.

“I was asked if I was willing to give it a go, and I said I was.

“Unfortunately for me, it didn't come off. In future maybe I will listen to my head rather than my heart but, like I said, at the time I felt it was one of those gambles worth taking,"
