Newcastle United Player Ratings v Blackburn

For the benefit of those that didnt get to see the game i will describe the goals. Reiley gave a free kick on the edge of the box for an infringement on Micheal Owen; this insensed the traveling fans as Lee Clark was through on goal.
However, there frustration was short lived as big Al placed the ball down and emphatically blasted it to the bottom left hand corner. Charles Nzogbia made a great run down the left, shruging off two tackels and delivering an inch perfect ball to the head of little Micky, who nodded home to put us two up. A long ball was played up to Charles to put him one on one with Brad Freidel. He calmly approached and feigned to shoot with his left foot, but dragged the ball past a commited keeper and slotted home with his right foot...beauty and now ladies and gentle men boys and girls children of all ages, its tha moment you have all been waiting for.. its "akins official player ratings"
Given 8/10 Played well, did what was required when it was required. he made a fantastic save from a Savage free kick
Carr 7/10 He had an average game, did his jobe defensively and was a good outlet on the right, he provided width. My only Gripe as usual, is that he dosent offer a lot going forward.
Boumsong 6.5/10 He looked jittery he has been a shadow of himself since the manu game, a few clean sheets should sort him out
Taylor 6/10 He was run ragged by Bellas, couldnt tackle him without giving away a free kick. After his first yellow card it was obvious that he was going to be sent off.
Baba 6/10 He was poor today but Blackburn would have been two up if it wasnt for him, he made two last ditch clearances to spare our blushes
Bowyer 6/10 Not one of his better performances, he tried to spread the play but he often conceeded possesion
Faye 6.5/10 Gave the ball away a few times but broke up lots off play as well, the onus of defending was on him today so he didnt go forward and he looked a better player for it.
Clark 5/10 Conspicuous by his absence today, he had the least imput on the pitch
CHARLES 8/10 He is in caps cos he is the man of the match. always looked hungry wanted to get involved, wants afraid to try and take on players, even when he was topped in his tracks he percivered and got an assist and a deserved goal. I am proud to have him in my team
Owen 6.5/10 Didnt really get involved much in the first half he and shearer were raisning there hands in the air a lot instead of coming deep to and getting involved. After he got his goal he was everywhere he ran form one side of the baox to the other skipin past challenges. hopefully that goal will put him in good stead for the rest of the season.
Shearer 6.4/10 he scored a great goal. but was quiet, didnt come deep trying to make things happen. he was content with raising his hand in frustration at the lack of service.
subs
Bramble 5/10 did what was required We didnt play well enough to warrant a a three goal victory, we keept hitting the long ball up to owen abd shearer in the wrong order..we played tried to play long balls to feet for owen instead of over the top and long balls over the top for shearer instead of into the feet. I was so infuriated with our first half display i nearly turned off the telly. As soon as the first goal went in i was watching a different team ..our spirits were lifeted. hopefully it will put us in good stead for the rest of the seson Charles Nzogbia was great
