Newcastle United have been given a boost by the fact that Nobby Solano and Craig Moore could be fit for the derby clash against Sunderland.

Newcastle are struggling to find consistency at the moment, which puts even more pressure on under-fire manager, Graeme Souness, ahead of the derby against Sunderland.

But the return of Nobby and Moore could help steady the ship at Newcastle. Neither have made their debuts yet.

Souness said:

''We should have Nobby Solano back as he's in training all this week,'' said Souness. ''He'll be in the squad and that's very encouraging.

''We have missed Kieron Dyer, Emre and Nobby Solano and we have not been able to create much.

''They are door openers - that's how I see it.''
