Souness Not Blaming Him, As He Admits His Fault

22-year-old Peter Ramage is expected to be named in tonights starting XI as Newcastle boss Graeme Souness tips the defender to make a name for himself.

Graeme Souness:

"For me, Peter - and this is the measure of the man - came in and the first voice I heard in the dressing room at the end of the Everton game was 'sorry men, that was down to me'.

"Peter can't have a bad game in my eyes. He gives you everything he has got and as a manager, that is all you can ask.

"Sometimes that might come up short in certain parts of his game because he is a centre-half, but when he is on the pitch, he will put his head in where it hurts, he will throw his body in to stop shots.

"He knows he was at fault for the goal we conceded on Sunday, but I would not blame him and it would be totally wrong of anyone to blame him."
