Rumours Speculation and Conspiracy Theories

Tyne-talk regular parkyboy, either has his ears very close to the ground or his head so far in the sky its untrue, you decide... whatever the case his theories make interesting reading

Lee Bowyer is definately leaving and it will be either to Charlton his preferred destination depending if Murphy deal is on. I don't think Curbishley will let Murphy go so Lee is more likely to end up at West Ham or Portsmouth for £1-£1.5m.

Willie McKay Meite's agent says the deal is as good as done for £2m, but there has been late interest from Liverpool which I beleive what the hold up is.

The Daily Mail are still pushing the Anelka story and I for one think we have again been in contact and it will hot up next week with Fenners having dropped their price to £5.5m pounds from £7m, the Turkish club are short of money and out of the CL.

I have heard there has been an enquiry made about the availablity of veteran striker Roy Makaay.

It has been rumoured since the summer about our interest in Gareth Barry and cash strapped Villa who like dealing with us would be prepared to except £2m.

Petrov deal is off as top brass at Celtic have put a block on it.

In Germany we are still linked with Swiss lb Magnin and the fee of £1.8m would not break the bank, he can also double as a left sided mf player who scores the odd goal.

Oliver Dacourt's agent has been busy on the fax machine and had alerted top PL clubs to the combative mf availability, this is a position that we need to fill as Parker is out for six weeks, Bowyer is away and Faye not available for a month. Portsmouth, Arsenal and us are likely to look the offer over. The sticking point is that he is asking wages in the region of £60k!!

Upson is still a target for us and Ameobi is likely to be used as a makeweight in any such deal, with Bruce for some reason keen to give Shola a PL lifeline.

Elsewhere Spurs are very close to sign Italian strike international Iaquinta in a bid to seal their European ambitions, he is a very good talent and his capture, would put Spurs in the running for a CL place.

The Nihat stuff has got to be cobblers.
