Shearer Wants Sweet FA

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has his last chance to win some silverware with the Magpies in the FA Cup this year.

Shearer, retiring at the end of the season, has been unable to win any silverware with the club, and so with this weekend’s FA Cup Clash against Southampton, it will be his last chance.

Roeder and Shearer will be planning a 3^rd successive victory under the two against the club that Shearer started his career with.

Roeder said:

"Whatever job Alan does for this club - whatever job Alan would want to do for this club - he will always do his very best,"

"And Alan Shearer doing his very best, he'll do an excellent job whatever he's asked to do.

"He's assisting me brilliantly. He's not an assistant - Alan Shearer will never be an assistant, he will never be a number two - Alan Shearer will only ever be a number one."
