Player ratings and a brief match analysis from our 3-1 defeat at Charlton, provided by jebediah.

Given - Didn't have a chance with any of the goals. Made a good save at 0-0 (a 1 on 1 with Bent) - 7

Ramage - To be honest I don't have a clue if he had a good game or not, seemed to do alright though.

Boumsong - I'm a perennial defender of this man but today he was a pile of wank. Despite supposedly being quick, he did not track the runs of Bent at all. If Charlton had more creativity in midfield they could have created more 1 on 1s for him - 4

Moore - Gave away the penalty, although he was diving before he was touched - and it looked outside of the box. I think it was him who booted it against Bowyer for the own goal as well, but he looked more assured than Boumsong. Strong in the air - 6

Carr - Looked rusty. Provided an option going forward, even if he didn't use the ball well - 5

Solano - Pretty anonymous. A couple of deep crosses, but never really got involved - 5

Bowyer - Thought he had quite a good game actually! Unlucky with the own goal (Moore just kicked it against him for those who haven't seen it) - 6

Parker - Didn't fly around as much as usual but WHAT A GOAL. Came over and celebrated right next to me as well which was good - 7

Emre - Poor game. Never got stuck in. Wasted set pieces and could not find the killer ball - 4

Shearer - Ran around with little reward. Won some flick ons but Shola doesn't run in behind him (would have been better to start Dyer if he was fit enough) - 5

Shola - Pretty ineffective. Got caught offside so often in the first half and added nothing to our attack - 4

Subs

Dyer - Lively. Looked like he had lost a yard of pace; I thought it at Chelsea as well, but I hope not! - 6

N'Zogbia - No impact - 5

For those who haven't seen the goals, their first was a pen. I thought the foul was outside the box and he was diving before there was contact, but I haven't seen a replay so...

Parker then scored an absoloute fucking belter which livened us right up, but we then conceded a ridiculous own goal when there wasn't really any threat.

Last goal looked like a glancing header; was at the other end though so couldn't say what the defending was like or anything. We had men pushed forward though.

Overall a crap performance. Once we got to the final third they stuck men in front of us and we had no way of getting round them, especially while Shola was on. We wasted our set piece chances.

Couple of handball shouts in the second half for penalties, one of which I thought was a definately penalty, but the linesman at our end was an idiot.
