Hiddink out of running for Toon job

Dutch manager Guus Hiddink is seemingly out of the running for the job of next Newcastle manager.
The Dutchman, who clinched the Dutch League title with PSV today, had this to say regarding the England job, through his agent Cees van Nieuwenhuizen:
'You'd expect that when you're in the world of football you'd know who Guus Hiddink is, what he has achieved at club and international level, if it's in the Champions League, national league or in the World Cup.
'I think either you go for Guus or you don't go for him. To find out he might be a candidate for the shortlist is sort of an insult to Guus Hiddink and his achievements so far.'
You may recall last weekend that Freddy Shepherd, writing in his programme notes ahead of the Spurs clash, said we had a "long list of the highest calibre to choose from" in reference to the vacant manager's job. In light of Hiddink's comments, it would seem that the Dutchman is not on this list, as it would insult him.
Add to this the fact that Hiddink reportedly announced earlier today that he would not manage a club side next season, and he is almost certainly out of the running.
