Ipswich Town boss Paul Jewell's future looks increasingly desperate after he missed the post-match press conference following his side's 2-1 defeat against Derby at Portman Road.

Whilst initial reports coming in from the ground indicated that Jewell had resigned and had left the stadium shortly after the final whistle, the club stated that the former Wigan Athletic and Bradford City manager simply was watching a DVD of the game in order to prepare for Saturday's clash against former club Sheffield Wednesday.

It was also stated that there would be full expectation that Jewell would remain manager of the club this evening and into Wednesday and other members of the coaching staff would join Jewell in watching a replay of the match later this evening. Assistant manager Chris Hutchings is expected to speak to the press shortly to give post match reaction.
