Town midfielder Lee Martin says that whilst he was happy to settle for a point in the game against Peterborough United this afternoon, his side could have claimed all three points.

The former Manchester United attacking midfielder was the player who was fouled which led to Town getting a penalty in the second half which striker DJ Campbell converted and says that Town could well have used this as a platform to nick all three points on another day.

Speaking to the Official Club Website after the game, Martin admitted: “I think on another day we could have nicked it. We had some good chances late on but it could have gone either way in the end in fairness.

"We’ll take the point as it stops the rot following Saturday’s defeat and it gives us something to build on going into Tuesday night. The game was a bit scrappy but that’s expected when both sides are low on confidence.

“There’s no doubting that the lads are determined to get us out of this position though. We will keep fighting to turn it around and that will be the same against Forest on Tuesday.”

Following a positive results for fellow strugglers Bristol City, the draw saw Town slide down one further place in the table, to 23rd place and are now one point off safety with 28 games left in the season, remaining a single point ahead of Peterborough.
