McCarthy Delighted with Victory

Town boss Mick McCarthy was understandably delighted with his side after they beat Millwall 3-0 at Portman Road.

Speaking in the post match press conference, former Republic of Ireland manager McCarthy said: “We are delighted with the result, especially against a team that is full of confidence after the run they are on. I thought 13 might be unlucky for someone and fortunately it turned out to be them!

“We started well and Murph got behind Shittu a few times and over the first half hour it was end to end. Hendo made some big saves for us but I think over the 90 minutes we deserved the three points.

“It was great to see the fans celebrating at the end. I love the fact that they are happy but I want them to keep their feet on the ground. There is a lot of football to be played yet and this league can change in a blink of an eye.”
