Lifelong Ipswich Town fan who was at Town as a youngers for three years from the age of nine, before moving on to Nottingham Forest as a twelve year old, later on spending time as a trainee at Southwell United and Lincoln City.

Loach's senior career started at Watford in 2006 who were required to pay £50,000 to Lincoln to secure his services with the young glovesman spending most of his first years in the Hornets youth sides following his arrival.

The majority of the 2007/2008 season saw Loach loaned out to other clubs in order to gain experience, representing Stafford Rangers 11 times, Morecambe three times and appearing for Yorkshire side Bradford 20 times.

The Nottingham born stopper sufficently impressed in his loan spells to become the number one keeper at Vicarage Road over the next three seasons. Loach did however lose his place in the side towards the end of 2011/2012 to the on-loan Manchester United keeper Tomasz Kuszczak.

Loach then joined Town during the summer of 2012, in what he described as a dream move, making his deubt on 14th August in a 3-1 League Cup win over Bristol Rovers.
