Kisnorbo Signs on One Month Loan

Ipswich Town have signed Leeds United's Australian centre back Patrick Kisnorbo on loan until the end of January.

The 31 year old will wear the number six shirt at Portman Road and will provide cover for Tommy Smith and Luke Chambers who are currently the only senior central defenders at the club.

Speaking of his desire to bring an extra defender to the club to provide cover for Smith and Chambers, McCarthy said this morning: "The fragile nature of the team means the spine is there – but we have the two of them and no one else."

It's thought that the signing of the former Hearts player is a short-term measure as Danny Higginbotham left the club this week, whilst Town look for a more permanent addition, but if Kisnorbo impresses enough, he could have his loan extended.
