Loach Delighted with Town Support

Town goalkeeper Scott Loach says that he was delighted with the level of noise and support from 2,900 fans at Villa Park that saw the club lose 2-1 to Aston Villa in the Third Round of the FA Cup.

Town took the lead through returning striker Michael Chopra before former blue Darren Bent equalised from the home side in his first game against Town since departing Portman Road. Andreas Wiemann clinched a place in the Fourth Round for Villa with a header with eight minutes on the clock.

Speaking to ITFC.co.uk after the game, Loach, who gave a thumbs up to the crowd (Photo below) at the final whistle, said:  “I thought both sets of fans were great but the Town fans really made some noise and it was a pleasure to play in front of them.

“I know we could have probably brought more fans but the ones inside the stadium made some real noise today and stuck with us right until the end.

“In fairness to Villa it’s two quality strikes that have beaten us but I think we can hold our heads high. Obviously we play to win every game and we’re disappointed to lose but I think we can hold our highs high today in the knowing that we gave it a real good go.”
